About
CinemaCanadiana is our place to talk about Canadian cinema that feels like home. Films rooted in Canadian places, people, and concerns.
It’s a part of the Canadian identity to create for our neighbours to the south, but in doing so have we lost a part of ourselves? What does it mean to be Canadian? What does it feel like to be Canadian on screen and watch ourselves? What do our films and TV shows mean on the international stage?
I’m not trying to force Canadian media on people, or change the consumption habits of Canadian viewers. I do want to listen thoughtfully as we have gentle, well-curated conversations about where Canadian content is shown, and what it means to us to be seen and heard like a whisper in a snowstorm.
